The Onslow County Partnership for Children (OCPC) is a private non-profit agency that develops and advocates for programs aimed at serving children and families. OCPC is seeking one full-time SUBSIDY SPECIALIST for the Subsidized Child Care Program to work from our main office located in Jacksonville. 

This position is responsible for implementing services to families with children in order to determine eligibility, which includes: processing Child Care Subsidy applications, interviewing clients, determining eligibility (per subsidized child care manual/policy), support our intake process, and will maintain a minimum caseload of 200 clients. The Subsidy Specialist position is responsible for utilizing information collected from clients and entered in the database is accurate when determining eligibility and parental fees and is needed for development of the plan of care and also making necessary changes in a timely manner. The Subsidy Specialist is responsible for reporting and forwarding occurrences of suspected program fraud to our Quality Assurance team. The Subsidy Specialist position is also responsible for referrals to other programs, handling complaint calls, to include reports of suspected child abuse and neglect. The Subsidy Specialist is also responsible for researching information needed to communicate child care subsidy case related information to: clients, child care providers, team members and their supervisor when there are concerns related to case management responsibilities.

The Subsidy Specialist position requires a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related human services field and one to three years of experience in the early childhood or human services field or an equivalent of education and experience. The Subsidy Specialist should have the ability to effectively communicate and assist people of various backgrounds, interview potential clients, collect, compile data and analyze data. Computer experience with Microsoft Office programs is required. Knowledge of rules and regulations governing child care in NC is preferred. Knowledge of NC Child Care Star-Rated Licensing Requirements. The Subsidy Specialist should be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
