CCR&R Referral Specialist

The Onslow County Partnership for Children (OCPC) is seeking ONE full-time REFERRAL SPECIALIST for the Child Care Resource & Referral program (CCR&R) to work from our Jacksonville office.
The Referral Specialist position is responsible for, but not limited to, implementing services for families, child care providers and members of the community to include: interviewing clients to obtain required information, explaining programs the client may wish to utilize and determine program specific eligibility. The position utilizes information from the client to provide referrals to child care, other resources and consumer education. The position is responsible for handling complaint calls, to include reports of suspected child abuse and neglect. The position is also responsible for maintaining and updating computer databases associated with this activity; writing and analyzing reports and providing services and referrals to child care providers and community members who request CCR&R information. The position also provides training for the community as it pertains to CCR&R services. This position is also responsible for Parent Counseling (resource and referral/consumer education/training)
The Referral Specialist position requires a minimum of an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related human services field and one to three years of experience in the early care and education or human services field or an equivalent of education and experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. The Resource Specialist should have work experience requiring public contact, which would include negotiating, interviewing, presenting and explaining information, gathering and compiling data, and analysis of data. Computer experience with Microsoft Office programs is required. Knowledge of rules and regulations governing child care in NC is preferred. The Referral Specialist should have knowledge of NC Child Care Star-Rated Licensing Requirements. The Referral Specialist should be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment. The Referral Specialist should have the ability of collection and analysis of data as well as the ability to effectively assist people of various backgrounds.
